Bakarmax Private Limited is proud to announce the launch of its ambitious animation programme called BAKARMAX ORIGINALS. Under our Originals programme, we will be releasing a new pilot every few months, with stories focussed mostly towards grown-ups. Any pilot that performs will be commissioned to full series. This will be broadcast 4k quality entertainment, with well-told stories.

“Adult animation” as it is called, has a big international market with shows like The Simpsons, South Park, Rick and Morty and many others.

How the programme works: Regular comics will be published on Bakarmax.com and from these, the highest performing comics will become candidates for Bakarmax Originals animated pilots. Once released, the highest performing pilots will be converted into series. These full series will be available for procurement by OTT platforms. In case, we OTT platforms are not interested in South Asian animation – all this content with licensed South Asian animation will go on Bakarmax.com – treating itself as an OTT platform using integration with Laminar (a technology company that helps content creators monetise their content)

We will be funding this effort with our high quality Commissioned client work that we do in animation, design and comics. Our clients include brands like Doctors without borders, ITC Bingo, Amnesty International and Jio Saavn.

The programme has been soft-launched with the release of the new animated short “Icchadhari Tatti Episode 1: Bai Lives Matter” highlighting the discrimination faced by Domestic help workers in India, featuring the voice of The Screen Patti’s Shivankit Parihar as a satirised version of journalist Ravish Kumar.

Our other pilot includes “Aaapki Poojita – Episode 1 and only” which is the story of tv idol Poojita who has spent all her life within the TV world but has to now deal with the real world once her TV show is cancelled.
