CRED launched a Christmas campaign in 2021 and they wanted us to help them reveal their Secret Santa using illustrations and animation. The idea was to take the approach of “Where’s Waldo” and create a very Indianised version of it. We captured the feel of a typical Indian street scene and started work on the master visuals.
We then started adding elements from CRED’s previous campaigns as a callback to some memorable moments and to add easter eggs for the audiences. This ensured that they spent more time within the creative and had small rewards even if they couldn’t spot the Secret Santa.
The final reveal happened through an animated version of the key visual. It was Deepika Padukone who was CRED’s secret Santa and the visual was shared both on CRED’s and Deepika’s Instagram.
