CULT FIT- THE 10 COMMANDMENTS

A comic book for your first day at the gym?! YES!

 

 

CULTFIT came to us with a unique concept: The Cult Manifesto. A holy grail for gym newbies on gym etiquettes to be displayed across their fitness centres. 

 

The twist is, how do we present these seemingly simple rules in a humorous way. 

 

A ton of brainstorming, jokes and concepts later, we got lucky with the “Zoom out perspective” formula. Things look different from a closer perspective and when you zoom out, you see a narrative that is completely different, almost comical.

.

Each rule had to have its own storyline and a punchline. We maintained a universe continuity by reusing the characters in multiple comics .

The 10 commandments are as follows: 

  • We Bring Respect with Every Step.
  • We Leave No Trace.
  • We Drop Weights, Not Standards.
  • We Keep Our Space Sacred.
  • We Return What We Borrow.
  • We Value Every Minute.
  • We Trust Our Trainers.
  • We Share the Tools of Strength.
  • We Ask Before We Capture.
  • We Speak to Lift.

The comic book also required the team to don out “Gymboi hats” as we researched, studied gym behaviour and pet peeves. 

 

The result? 10 rules, a 40 page comic book and jokes which make you go, “Oh man! So true!”
